a poem from my husband.

When I Think of Mommy
 Mother’s Day 2014

When I think of Mommy, my minds travels very far
When I think of Mommy, I see a shining star
There are too many things she does for us on any given day
Even if we thank her, she deserves more than words can say
Her heart must be magnificent to do the things she does
A truly wonderful machine powered by a Mother’s love
Undaunted by toys thrown across a room or dirty clothes in mountainous piles
She trudges onward through the days an example with her loving smile
When I think of Mommy, I see an impenetrable wall
When I think of Mommy, I see her responding to God’s call
To raise her children the best she can both protected and in love
Teaching them to know God’s voice and aspire to the things above
Unheard of is her fierceness to keep her children far from sin’s harm
Through truth and love, she molds their hearts to resist the world’s charm
To keep them safe, she’ll do anything-- fighting tooth and nail to death
Her desire for them is heaven for which she’ll offer even her final breath
When I think of Mommy, I see a beautiful and radiant flower
When I think of Mommy, I see the greatness of God’s power
To hide inside such a delicate vessel His kindness and His strength
To create a Woman so loyal that she’d go to any length
To be a blessing to her children to lift them up in every way
When I think of Mommy, there’s far more than words can say
