Yesterday was our first day of school and it was good.
Parker & Ethan started their day at 6am prayer with their daddy over at our church.
This has been an obvious blessing in their lives and personalities.
What a blessing to start your morning off seeking and being in the presence of God at 10 and 7 years old.
My Boys want to go and are kinda persistent about it.
After prayer, Parker has been practicing the drums
with one of the young men who does play the drums also,
but is now learning the guitar.
Together they are practicing for worship.
I think tomorrow night is their first night with this new set up.
I can't wait.
After we finished school yesterday...
(which lasted a whole 2 hours, during which 6 kids were taught)
Daddy took 3 of the kiddos on a field trip to the recycling center.
Parker and Ethan had saved up so many recycling containers that it would not all fit in the suburban and a second trip is needed.
It was fun, interesting and rewarding-- $38.00 later.
Onto my classroom: Our temporary class (in the boys room)
is working out well.
But I as I watch my husband work on what will be our new classroom, I am beyond excitement.
There are no words to describe it.
Decorating it is going to be fun too.
I think I would like to go for a vintage 'Dick & Jane' theme.
Maybe.
I feel so blessed.
Blessed with great kids, a husband who loves me so much, a beautiful home, an opportunity to teach my own children (wow), a really nice church and congregation, a children's church that is growing and running smoothly and expecting a baby really soon.
...Not knowing if I am having a boy or a girl makes me giddy.
It's like awaiting a really big surprise present.
God has been working such patience in my life.
And I am so thankful for all of it.

I see, hear & feel the peace & contentment in your "voice". It is so rare to be in that place. Unfortunately you are a rare gem..... Imagine how good the world would be if we all were as contented & fulfilled as you!
Love,
Marilyn
I remember my school days at home. Mom used A Beka for us as well and it was always so exciting when the books arrived, at least for me. I'd force myself to not read ahead in my books so that I wouldn't already know it when I got to it. Fun times.
I found a website you might be interested in that has devotional material for children. I've been using it with my son and he asks for it over and over. It is www.mywonderstudio.com I know how valuable resourses are and from reading your blog ( I know I don't comment often but I do read it) I thought you might appreciate it.
