Getting More Than We Wanted

This morning I had only 4 of my 6 Cupcakes with me. It was a little after 9 in the morning and I JUST happened to be driving by one of my favorite thrift stores (wink, wink). I headed in thinking I will make this quick. As I'm scoping out the shelves of STUFF, I heard a little guy crying loudly. Yup, you guessed it. It was my 5 year old CRYING with my 8 year old helping him walk over to me. I must mention that they were with me the whole time until they saw the candy dispensers. Of course they didn't have any money on them, but they still like to gawk at the treats. I had called my two boys a couple of times, to stay with me, but like the un-robots they are--they did not listen. Now back to my story...My little guy, was in tears because he had a huge bleeding, fat exposed cut under his ankle. With a thrift store find in my hand, I grabbed my 'to the rescue' wipies out of my bag and 'applied pressure'. Of course, he's SCREAMING hysterically (he gets that from me) and blood is dripping everywhere. I had to remember that I was the Mommy so I wouldn't pass out. I sent my 8 year old up to the counter with a dollar to buy the vase that was in my hand. (Hey-- I had to call the doctor no matter what so I might as well have my son buy the vase while I was waiting to find out whether or not the Dr. could get him in right away or I needed to go to the ER). To make a long story short-- My little man is doing great..some stitches later. However, he did have a moment of coming UNGLUED when he found out he was getting stitches AND how they were going to numb the area by giving him some shots. As I write this, my little Trooper is sound asleep in my bed taking a nap after his hard day..no more thrift store shopping for him. My poor little Trooper!!! You ask how it happened? You know boys--

Your poor little cupcake. I have two sons, and can remember emergency room trips well. Boys are boys and get cuts and bruises ALL the time. The problem is they heal faster than Mom does. Living in the same town where do you shop?? I found only one goodwill and it was very overpriced. Thanks, Love and Prayers,

Home Spun Treasures? My husband works in Camarillo, so I would love to stop by. Do you know the address? Hope you can stop by Very Vintage sometime. You won't be disappointed!

Your boys must be cut of the same cloth as my boys were-if it could happen it would-and DID! And yes, I would have taken time out to buy my treasure TOO!
