I Have A Problem...

What is that?
Laundry!
Don't think I'm a strange bird, but I love doing laundry. Something about the feeling of accomplishment... You ask, "Accomplishment? Doing laundry?" Well, if you have to wash clothes for 8 people (and two of them like to change clothes like they're in a fashion show everyday), then yes, it becomes a HUGE job that that requires stacking, sorting, doing and accomplishing. Did you just say, "You didn't know it could be so fun?" Well, my problem is that I HATE putting it away.... My smart, college-educated (I never went), strong, handsome, knight in shinning armor Hubby came up with a solution: Teach the Cupcakes to put their own clothes away. Even the 3 year old. They hang and stack. And voila! Piles disappear-- REVIVAL! Their drawers might not look as neat (they aren't that bad) as I would have them, but who really cares anyway, the drawer inspection police? A little sacrifice for a BIG help. With a baseball team like ours, team work does work. Wanna come over and help too?

I so relate! I'm actually waiting for a load to finish as we speak. Love folding it, hate (HATE)putting it away! I leave it up to my kids to put theirs away too, and then I just close their door and try not to look. :)

Yup. That's what we do around here too. After a season of them folding their own clothes, they now just put them all away. I prefer them putting them away, but at least they can refold them when they come undone in the shuffle!

And just to make your heart pitter-patter, my big boys have played it up so much to the 1 year old, that even HE helps put stuff away! Hehehe! That's after he helps me get all the clothes out of the dryer to fold! I LOVE having a big family! It's so cool to see everyone helping out :D

Smart girl you are, to listen to Hubby's suggestion. It's too late for me, the inmates have taken over! At least my own little ones have grown up now and moved on to their own homes...justice will prevail when their own little laundry makers revolt! Cute post...

Sweet! I love to wash and fold-but not put up laundry. When they became teens they decided they wanted to wash their own, and man o man, I agreed! Now I just wash for hubby and I. Big change!

You know I really don't mind doing the laundry either, and like you I don't care for the putting away either. As my children are all grown and gone, just me and Hubby, I have to put them away. oh well...

Have a great week.

Alaura

We've been doing this for at least a year or so...my six and nine yr old are in charge of putting most of their clothes away. But actually they don't like to do it all...it's just not their favorite task. And their drawers- especially of my youngest- look pretty crazy after she does, even though I've tried to show her how. Oh well...it still beats having me do ALL of it for sure! ;)

Good morning Wendy :)

I absolutely hate laundry and I don't use that word lightly... ugh. My son just learned how to wash and put his own clothes away 2 years ago at 16, so I'm working on Annie now, but it's a looooong process LOL

Laundry doesn't bother me either. I am amazed how much 3 people can create, I can only imagine 8!

Have a wonderful weekend with the cupcakes and your hubby!

I have an idea here..perhaps we can have a "chore"swap! I will come over put your laundry away and you(and your helpers)can come and do the stacks that I have waiting to wash! How does that sound? Fair warning though, since I have tried to become an accomplished blogger(sigh!) my laundry room is taking on the look of Mount Rushmore!
