Me & The Ultrasound

I know I never tell about how my pregnancy is going with baby # 7. There really isn't so much to tell, YET. In the beginning, everything was typical: sick, tired, throwing up...You know, the fun stuff about being pregnant. I'm not always sick with each one, but with this one, I was VERY sick. At about 12 weeks, it all disappeared over night. REALLY. Now, I just wait, get check-ups once a month, and think of baby names. After having 6 little ones, I've gotten a little tired of some of the names I have bounced around for past pregnancies. I HAVE to think up some NEW ones that me AND hubby will agree on--difficult, but it can be done. The next part of my story originates with me getting my ultrasound the other day. This is the first one where they can tell you if it is a boy or girl. I ALWAYS HAVE to know. Why? Because sometimes I am nosey and have to know everything. And I rarely have patience. (I know, I sound like a good Christian woman in all my posts, right? But hey, we all fall short some of the time.....) So for me, I MUST know each time. At first, it's like an itch that I can ignore, but as the days pass and the pregnancy lengthens, I become obsessed with scratching that ITCH! So far, the only time I didn't find out the gender was for our second child and I only did that because my sweetie was adamant that we keep it a surprise! Although I admit, it was exhilerating in the delivery room when the gender was finally discovered. For our fourth child, I HAD to know and my husband did not. He wouldn't even talk to me about it, so I begged my doctor to order another ultrasound for me. So I took my stubborn self and found out. And I had to keep it to myself & tell no one. That was REALLY HARD. I asked my Sweetie everyday if he wanted to know. He would say Nope. (((ugh!!))) FINALLY, I wore him down and he said fine tell me. (((confetti))). Aren't I awful when it comes to this...I'm trying to help you understand me & ultrasounds. Then came Pearl & Lincoln (not twins) -found out.
Now this time around I wanted to challenge my needing-to-know-self and be surprised. I think it will be kind of fun too, in the delivery room. Something should be fun in there right?
I have been putting off making the ultrasound appointment because I didn't want the tech to ask me the hardest question I would ever be asked--Do you want to know the baby's gender? (((tunnel vision))).

Wanna know too?
Well, this is the first thing I bought when I found out.
Can you guess?

It's a GiRL!
(This was a loooong post , sorry)
The new score will be 4 boys - 3 girls

That carseat is so adorable..love the colors, baby stuff has come along way!! Congrats on having a girl. They are so much fun to dress up. I have 2 girls and a boy. It was a surprise everytime for all of them. The clinic where I had the ultrasounds never told anyone the sex.

Of course I would want to know. I had children in the olden days when you had to be surprised but I would have wanted to know each and every time. How nice it is getting closer to even and your seventh, what a wonder of little blessings from God and may God bless you for being mommie to those blessings. How excited you must be. Babies are beyond miracles and each has all the promises that God imparts into each of us. I am so happy for you, and especially that you are past the barfing part!
Have a Wonderful Day

Oh, yea! A little girl! Congratulations, Wendy. I understand your need to find out the gender. When I was having my kids there were no ultrasounds and I was a crazy woman trying to guess by every means known, which admittedly weren't very scientific...dangling the wedding ring over the tummy, is the tummy sticking straight out or it is wide and round, and of course guessing by how rapid the heartbeat is. I still think there might be something to that one! But when my daughter was pregnant with both of her girls I could hardly stand it until the BIG ultrasound! Sure, there was excitement when I had my baby and found out in the delievery room, but there's excitement ANY day you find out!

Enjoy celebrating your exciting news! Kathy

I didn't need to know after my first two...a boy and a girl. After that, they just don't make a different version, ya know? LOL...since I had the "tools" to handle both and all :)

By the way, are you gonna do a BABY NAME CONTEST?!? Doncha think that'd be FUN??

Whoever wins gets an autographed picture of all the Cupcakes. Now you KNOW I want one of THOSE!! :D

Yippee! Another girl! I love the carseat. Can you even believe that when I had my kids, there was no such thing as a car seat. When we brought our babies home, we carried them in our lap! When I had to take my babies out, I used what was called an "infant carrier". I compare it to a little girl's doll carrier...not very safe, huh?

Times sure have changed!

Congratulations!!

Now tell us her name...

Oh I just love big families. I'm so happy for you with number 7. I'm the youngest of 10 ...5 girls and 5 boys! I am so thrilled that God has blessed me and my husband with 3 children. I would want to know too! So funny of you to go get an ultrasound all on your own! xo rachel

Wendy, Congrats on your finding out you are having a new daughter. This is wonderful news. Knowing the sex makes things easier for shopping and preparing for the BIG DAY. Not an important thing for men. Poor hubby, I guess he must know by now the sex. Delighted never the less I am sure. Love and Prayers, Suzanne

Congratulations!! Noow, when are you due? I love this carseat! Before Cali arrived Marc's employees threw a baby shower for him and bought her a pink carseat and I adore it! Can you imagine a bunch of guys shopping for a pink carseat!?! The thought still makes me laugh.
I love the tooth fairy pillows! I am going to have to make some for each of my kids now!! The hammock is AMAZING! How nice would that be to lay in that on a warm sunny day and just take a nap!
I am like you- I always keep a "wish list" of things I want. My poor husband tries to pretend it doesn't exist. :) A girl can dream though, right?
