Mommy, I Have a Surprise for You

Please don't tell him they're weeds.
But even weeds can stir your heart
when they're picked by your three year old for you!

One man's weeds are another man's flowers. Live in the desert and a lot of things that were weeds become flowers! What a sweetie boy!

I have pictures of my kids holding their flowers up to me. They are some of the dearest pictures ever. Love in its purest form, a gift from a chubby lil' hand and a smile to go along with it!

What a sweet little boy. It's the thought that counts right? But those weeds are still pretty :-)

I'm so glad other moms feel the same way!! I wrote a poem about this...

My Special Vase

On sunny days I always hope that little eyes will see
The tiny treasures in our yard God places there for free.

The sun and rain and time will help to guide the little seeds
Up through the ground to be the plants some botanists call weeds.

Those precious hands, like butterflies, choose the merriest by far,
Like buttercups and daisies and dandelions are.

So happy and excited to bring them in to see
These flowers with the tiny stems my baby picks for me.

Where will you place these flowers? Those bright eyes want to know.
A paper cup would not befit their warm and sunny glow.

Such thoughtfulness and beauty deserves a special place
And so I searched until I found this special little vase!
