After my hubby gave this little piggy a bath we noticed a little, I mean REALLY LITTLE bit of redness under his arm. No worries, I grabbed my corn starch baby powder and applied liberally. BUT, the next morning, his (I remind you little) little redness had grown down his arm, up his neck and around his torso. My poor little guy had something and I had no idea what it was. Being the calm, collected and relaxed (I'm lying) Mommy that I am, I called the Doctor right away.
I'm happy to report his rash is a contact rash. I COULD NOT remember what he had touched that was out of the ordinary. We hadn't changed soaps, visited any new parks or bought any new clothes....nothing! Then, I remembered that during the busy & exciting party, my little stinker climbed up on a basket and knocked this over........my pretty, spicy tea rose oil. After pouring it all over himself (he sure did smell delightfully wonderful) I wiped him up and cleaned him off. Everything seemed to be fine.
Not thinking about it any further, it quickly became a rash within 48 hours. Have a look at it.......

Oooooohmygoodness, that's really horrid for the little guy, sugar. I can't believe rose oil did that to that baby. WOW! I'll be more careful with them for sure. I love oils and use them to scent our home every single day. Good luck with the wee one.

Connie

OM gosh! With all the sickness around these days, I think I would have totally freaked out! But that happy face and rash didn't go together to make up one sick kid... I will have to put it down in my "book" that some rashes are NOT accompanied by a fever and contagious virus! If we could all be so lucky!
Cut kids! Darling family... praying for your dad....
WOW! He doesn't look like he's in any pain at all-still looks happy as a clam!
OUCH! Poor little guy, but at least you figured it out. Hope he feels better fast.
Just found your blog! I am glad to find another large family out on the net. Makes me feel normal. :)
Oh that poor little guy... It makes me want to cry just seeing the picture of his rash. I can't imagine how scary it must have been to see how much worse it got overnight. I would have freaked out!! I sure hope he's getting better.

Poor baby! A big warm Australian hug coming his way. Marilyn xoxo
awe-the poor lad - and what is rose tea oil??
I get a rash like this from t-tree oil that most folks can use with no such rash- sigh- my heart goes out to him as this rash tends to burn too- so is painful-
hugs from Meme
Poor baby!. That's a terrible rash. I would send the picture to the manufacture of the rose oil and let them know what the product did when it came in contact with a little ones skin. I'm so glad he will be alright,I bet it was scary to see that kind of a rash and blisters.
Let us know how he is doing.
