Yesterday.

Thanksgiving was a hit with no blooper tales to tell.
Except for this one issue: Somehow my kids and husband (who almost never gets sick) managed to contract some kind of bug and two of them woke-up this morning vomiting. As soon as something like this happens, my husband and I start backtracking through all the events and contacts we've had over the past few days trying to determine the possible source. The truth is, we went to a buffet restaurant on Wednesday and I think we got more than just full tummies. So far, everyone's made it to either the bathroom or trash can before exploding-- there's nothing worse than having to clean vomit out of the couch cushions or from between the mattress and bedframe. Yuck! That's what husbands are for... Back to the original post-- The weather was extremely warm and sunny which warranted an outdoor Thanksgiving in the back yard. It was very nice. While some were involved in the food preparation, some jumped on the trampoline or tossed around the football, and others fellowshipped. Overall, it was very kick-back and enjoyable. We had invited quite a few people, but several had already made plans which is entirely fine, but the combination of folks that came over were great. No one was high-maintenance. All were easy going and engaging. No one was argumentative or generally annoying. Don't pretend like you don't know what I mean. Everyone has one of these individuals who attends family functions. They're the one who drinks too much and I'm not talking about Martinelli's. They're the one who stands by the appetizers single-handedly decimating the shrimp cocktail platter regardless of whether or not anyone else has actually had any. (Oh wait... that's me!) Or they're one who has been relegated to sitting alone on the couch because they've irritated everyone else at the party. Then typically, on the way out, they blame you for inviting such snobby guests! But like I said, none of these were present... Today, we'll be off buying a Christmas tree along with the 54 million other shoppers out and about. And hopefully, we'll get some outdoor light decoration done as well.

Oh sweetie...
Looks like everyone had a GREAT time. The kids were sure having fun. Love the pic of the drumstick eating "cupcake". So precious.

We had a nice day also, but didn't eat outside. I will have to consider that next year. That might be a nice change. Phoenix usually gives us a really nice sunny day for the holidays. Hasn't let me down in almost 25 years anyway.

Thanks for sharing sweetie. I know you have found the perfect tree and decorations, and I look forward to seeing them soon.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
