I promised my husband that I would not
take down the Christmas decorations and tree till New Year's Eve,
but my cleaning impulse got the best of me (on Tuesday) and he gave the ok.
When I started to take the ornaments off the tree Pearl let out a shriek,
"Mommy, your ruining Christmas!"
But I assured her how much fun we going to have celebrating
New Year's Eve in a just a few days.
Pearl felt much better.
Now, I just have to get creative to make New Year's
fun as promised.
Being a Mommy makes you have to be creative.
And Pearl knows it.

Sophia is home and enjoying telling her brothers about her stay at the hospital.
As far as she's concerned, she made a lot of friends during her brief stint.
The nurses and doctors went above and beyond caring for her and
being pleasantly nice to her.
She showed us the coloring book they made for her and the crayons
they gave her. Including her cool hat and socks she wore in surgery which they let her
bring home.
Not to mention her penny that she got back after being retrieved from her esophagus.
On Sunday, she wants to give a praise report in front of the congregation and thank everyone
for praying for her.
And to answer the obvious question....
No. She will never put anything in her mouth again.
Amen.
