my newly six year old.

Charlie turned 6 on Sunday

His birthday celebration ended last night

Somehow-- some of it planned and some of it spontaneous--

we've been having a birthday week for him

instead of a birthday day

It started with everyone saying why

they love Charlie during dinner one night

Then, rather than wrapping his gifts,
we hid them around the house

and let him hunt for them,
one a day over the last 4 or 5 days

Included in this event were the "Frankenstein" cupcakes
we brought for all our church family on Sunday

A birthday lunch at Wendy's with kids meals for all

And finally last night, his birthday cake and ice cream

Oh-- and did I mention that we'll be going to an
Aquarium very soon as a special birthday day
which Charlie chose for all the family
