establishing faith.

My kids are pretty funny, cute and predictable. One minute screaming and wailing, begging Mommy or Daddy to pray for their owwie (booboo).

And it doesn't necessarily have to be a fresh wound. Sometimes it's an old injury which they've forgotten about until they happen to glance at a faded bruise or cut or scrape that's already on the mend.

But the minute one of us prays for them, it's done. Finished.

The pain, real or otherwise, has ceased and the crying stops immediately.

That's why, when someone's hurt in the backyard and screaming their head off, you'll hear Mommy and Daddy yell out the window: "Someone pray for them."

Why? Cause prayer works. Just ask Ruby.
