you can't stop the beat.

Sophia and Pearl had their first real dance recital.

I was already crying as soon as I sat down.

I was so proud as a parent-- I guess it was just one of those milestones in your children's lives when you realize they've grown up more than you thought.

There were two different programs; Pearl was only in the first one at 1pm, but So-So was in both at 1pm and 5pm. There were separate check -in times at separate locations and they had to be there around an hour before.

It was a little hectic to say the least. But we did it and me, hubby, my mom and River all managed to get there on time. That, in itself, is amazing!

The performances were terrific-- all the kids.

I was extremely surprised at my little Pearl, who came alive during her routine. She had the smile, the poise and the moves-- she did so well.

And then there's Sophia. Before the show, she had said that she was not nervous at all and there was no chance of her forgetting her routine. Confident? For sure. Focused? Can you say 'Game face'?

When she came on, there was no doubt that she meant it. She was dancing with her whole body. Even her head was happening. I was blown away.

At the end of the day, the girls said thy never wanted the day to end. I think that's how I felt also.
