Give a Little Piece of Your Heart {Link Up}.

I don't think there's any question whether or not so called kid's movies today contain material that is not kid appropriate.

Some of the material injected into these programs is not just inappropriate, it is unethical and immoral, driven by a anti-Biblical agenda introducing vulgarity, crassness and promiscuity to children who should only be exposed to wholesomeness.

It is demonic.

You may disagree with me, but for me, it's not open for debate. It's crystal clear.

Some people should probably stop reading now.

I can't understand it when people try to justify why I should let my kid's watch stuff which I have determined not acceptable.

It's as if I'm trying to feed my children a healthy meal while others encourage me that junk food is better or at least won't be too harmful.

I don't think cartoon characters with cleavage or animals using dialogue laced with sexual innuendo are junk food-- I know it's poison.

For some kids, being exposed just once is enough poison to send them down a horrible path leading to a potential pornography addiction and ruined relationships.

For other kids, it's a long term indoctrination where children become comfortable with immorality in little doses over time corrupting their own innocence and purity.

This is a demonic agenda. It can do your child permanent spiritual damage.

The real problem occurs when people (family, friends, and especially other Christians) who are supposed to be supporting my Biblically based decisions promoting my children's spiritual well-being actively try to convince me to let my child listen to or watch such and such a thing...

People! We live in an information and technological age where one can find out the content of material in an instant-- within a few clicks. I can find out exactly what's in it. I don't have to take someone's word that it's 'okay'.

We live by the Spirit of God, not the spirit of this world. I am actively defending my home against the spirit of this world.

I soo understand! It is even harder to understand when grandparents babysit and allow the children to watch cartoons and don't screen the content- and when you have expressly told them not to! Why would they want to sabotage? Shouldn't they think of the child's best interests as well? Besides not allowing them to babysit, what else can be done? They say "OK" to our requests, and then they do the exact opposite- it is warfare!

Amen! I am horrified by the junk they promote on children's programming. We shut it all off 15 years ago with no regrets.

I couldn't agree more!! Thank you for posting this and for speaking your mind.

We shut off our TV more than 15 years ago and it is the best decision we've ever made! We are able to watch videos and DVD's, but I'm in charge of what we watch and let me tell you, I'm pretty picky! I'm continually amazed when our friends use their ClearPlay thing to delete content or scenes, and my thought is, if you have to use ClearPlay, WHY are you watching it in the first place? Ok, let me get off my soapbox now....

Great post!

I whole heartedly agree with you!!! I have issues with this same thing. I wish that just one family in my neighborhood would adhere to these same high standards so for once, I could feel comfortable enough to let my son actually go to a friends house without the worry of filthy shows, movies, and games!!!!!! It's like we are losing the youth to such mature matters on tv and the sad part is, they are directed for such a young age group. Gone are the days where most kids can be found outdoors, playing and using their imaginations!

Yes, yes, yes! I know so many other moms who are ultra-careful about everything else but let their kids watch it because it's "kids programming." I mean, it's their children and of course their responsiblity and decision. I too have a hard time understanding why people work so hard to "change my mind" on a movie or show I have decided my kids can't watch. I think it must come from a sense of guilt.
We have Netflix at our house. I always watch shows or movies ahead of time before I make the decision whether or not they can see them. Grandparents definitely can be more lax about these things. My mother-in-law was shocked when I pointed out some things in a show she had allowed my kids to watch. She hasn't had to be "on guard" for that kind of stuff since her sons were children, and as she put it, she was a "little rusty." Now she checks with me regularly.
