Here Kitty..Kitty..

Growing up, I was the lil' child that CONSTANTLY asked for a pet. I was NOT the sweet girl who always had a kitty or puppy that somehow "followed me home". I used to say that having a puppy or kitten all my own would make all my dreams come true. One that I could love, care for, name and be mine, all mine. Something about having your own pet that slept at the foot of your bed had some special, "perfect" world, sitcom image to me. Don't get me wrong-- we had dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and hamsters. My brother even had a snake (which my sons will NEVER have). But they were everyone else's pets. I am the youngest in the family so I never got to pick out my own... Poor me, right? My Mom still has letters I wrote to her begging, BEGGING for my own puppy. Let me tell you, the minute I was married and we bought OUR first house I went on an obsessive puppy hunt, then it was a kitten hunt. I told my hubby wubby I needed a doggie to protect his little family while he was at work. That worked about a minute. He wanted to know how an 8 week old darling puppy was going to protect us if needed. (Why does he have to be so intelligent?) Not to mention we live on a VERY safe block. But he let me go hunting. Woohoo! I was so happy and I KNEW what kind AND color I wanted. Well, we bought Cricket, a chewing monster..next was Finneydolphin, our sweet girl kitty. Another year later, we brought home Picklechips, the now big, lazy, porch lying around, Kitty. And of course, Cricket needed a friend, so then we rescued a cow patch, pint-sized, never has grown dog, Stitch. My husband has finally put his foot down and says, "Enough is enough. This isn't Noah's Ark 2." And I say, "Yes, Lovey Dove" (wink,wink)--but aren't kittens not so cute? Don't be silly-- of course they are! So now I have started looking out to buy pretty, girlie, sugar sweet, looking ones. Ones that sit pretty in my kitchen on top of the breadbox. Most of the time, they are so hard to find and oftentimes, when I do find them, their faces are kinda scary.
Well, here are the three pretty kitties to start my collection. Aren't they so darling? They don't smell, shed or need to be fed.

May your dreams still be like those of a child.

I'm a kitty lover, too. We have two, Floppy and Daisy-doo. I always wanted a dog but BF say's "NO" all the time so I gave up!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I love your header, by the way!

If you read through my posts you will see that I want a puppy so bad. I have always had a dog and this is the first time I don't. However, hubby man says I can have one that doesn't well (go potty!) chew, or shed. Guess I will be looking for some puppy figurines!
However, I cannot guarantee that a puppy won't come home with me one day...the real kind!

Oh my goodness you sound like my daughter!!! Well, last week she finally got her very OWN kitten! She has to pay it's bills and so on. The kitten is very sweet though!

The perfume bottle was not marked! So I kindly asked the lady about it...who wasn't so kind back (which I was sad about...this is a Christian owned charity thrift shop and all proceeds go to the needy!!!). She ended up going back and having it priced. And you were right...I found another treasure that wasn't there yesterday! I will be posting pics very shortly!

Have a great Friday!

Aw, how sweet your kitties are! I don't have any brothers or sisters, so growing up I had a kitty and a doggie! They do light up our lives. Thanks for stopping by.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

You have a real collection there.

They're almost maintenance free, except a little dusting.

My hubby didn't realize what a kitty collector (aka crazy cat lady) he'd married and had to put his foot down too! I love your 'everlasting' kittens! So sweet!

What a cute story! My husband thought he hated cats and would not let the kids and I get one for years. Finally he gave in almost 15years ago and we got a precious little white ball of fur. Well, now he carries the kitty he never wanted around like a baby and he swears the fur boy says hello to him every morning! Go figure. I do like you sweet little ceramic kittens too though! Loved your post!

I loved your story about how you manipulated your hubby into getting you kittens, LOL!

Those fake ones are very sweet, and cute. You're right, now that I think about it. Most porclien cats are scary looking. But those are sweet!

Thanks for visiting my Show and Tell!
