Warning: Wife Has Rubbed Off On Husband--May Be Contagious!

First, I must tell you that I am dangerous when I go to Target. Why? Because I want to buy so many things every time. But this time was different--My Sweetie went along with our 5 year old. They were supposed to be going ONLY for kid's cold medicine. But while there, he called me about a zillion times with, "Guess what they have here?" I loved it!
I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, so let me back up here. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a live CHRISTmas tree for the boy's room. Guess what? Hubby called to tell me that they had a 1-foot live tree for $10.00. He WANTED to buy it for them. I used my non-chalant voice and said, "If you want". When he got home, I found out that he had splurged and bought the $30.00-3 foot one.
Whoo-hoo! The boys are so excited (me too)! The only one not ecstatic about the purchase was our sassy little Princess who said, "Why'd you get a small CHRISTmas tree?" We had to explain to her that it's not the family one, but a special one for the boy's room. The idea is to plant it after CHRISTmas and let the kids decorate it outside every year from now on.
And then there's the bonus: For years, I've WANTED the Charlie Brown Holiday Specials Collection. For YEARS. But either I couldn't find them during the holidays or I didn't have the money. Well, guess what? Now I have them! And my children have never seen them.
The holidays are looking good.

I love you Sweetie (He treats me & the kids gooooood).

I just love when my husband goes shopping. He always finds something that he thinks I can't live without. I have learned over 35 years to let him do that....he has gotten better at his selections over the years!
Have fun with the tree!!

What a sweet tree and the boys look really excited too. Are you planning on keeping it inside for a month? You should look up having potted trees in the house, but I think that may dry it out a little (since you paid a bunch for it). You also have to pre-dig the hole before the ground freezes. It may be happier on patio or porch for a few weeks, inside for a week or so and then outside again. I remember we planted one of our trees at mom's house and that baby got huge. It's been cut down, but it was a beauty. Good luck with your special gift to your boys.
Loved the Charlie Brown specials too! I think most of the kids who did the voices are my age or older.

I looked it up and it says that 7-10 days inside. Getting a smaller tree is better for surviving. : )

What a sweetie you have there. I'm afraid to let my hubby shop alone. He always spends more than I would. It's there giving spirit.

What a SWEET little tree, and your honey deserves some special thanks! Actually we live out of town, and my husband works in, so he winds up doing like 3/4 of the shopping, and trust me, they ALWAYS bring home more than we would ever allow ourselves, plus they don't complain about the cost when THEY spend it. I'm so grateful for this.

I am tickled for you with the Charlie Brown set and... I look forward to seeing a post of your decorated tree!

I get crazy when I go to Target too! I just can't help it! My husband always rolls his eyes.......but then when he goes by himself he is just as bad, if not worse!! That tree is precious! What a great idea to put it in the kids room and then plant it afterwards! That would be so nice to be able to do that. What a great hubby!!
I am doing a giveaway- you'll have to stop by and throw your name in!!
Hope you are feeling great!

Hi Wendy... I am slowly making a come-back 'n trying hard to catch up, again... Love the tree for the boys... my Parents did that for us, too... It was always so nice to string popcorn 'n berries... make orange cups with seeds... pinecones covered w/peanut butter 'n seeds and then hang it all on the tree for the birds to enjoy... Ohhh, you know I loved your post about "Pearl"... and, congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm thrilled for you!! Hope everyone's doing well... God bless...

The Christmas tree is a great idea. Last Christmas we bought a small live tree because I was preggers with Tyler, and he was going to be born before Christmas and we were all going to have our first Christmas together. I wanted to keep the tree for the same reason you do. Or so I thought he would be here before Christmas. I was a week overdue with him before he decided to show up. Thank goodness that wasn't our first Christmas together since the tree died! :) We are going to try again this year. I would wish my tree luck since my thumb is no where near any shade of green.

That is such a great idea to get a live Chirstmas tree. I think I might do that when my daughter gets a little older. I know that an evergreen tree will grow huge here in Oregon with all our rain:)
