Camp Outback

The little adventurers wanted to get away and rough it but, with the new baby their Mommy wasn't quite ready to head off into the great wide open. So we sent them to Camp Outback (literally: the camp out back). I made sure it was safe from all possible danger by sending Chief I-don-wanna (that would be Daddy, of course) to sleep with the little braves. Although no real peril occurred, it was reported from one of the scouts that there were some rather frightening shadow monsters accompanied by a very scary tale of things that go bump in the night. You know-- the kinds of things that are the reason we don't have a TV. Thanks, Daddy. Anyway, the backyard safari was so much of a success that we left the tent up for several days. Believe it or not, our six and nine year old were brave enough to spend the second night out back by themselves. With their hunting dogs (family dogs really, ahem, per my request), of course.

I bet the kiddies had a ball!! What an adventure for them. Just tell Heap Big Chief Grump-Along that some day the kids will thank him for this memory!! LOL!!

"Daddy" got his tale-telling skills from many a fine Uncle who also excelled in that area at our camping trips when we were kids :)

What fun your kid-lings surely had.

Oh, how I remember the days of our 'camping out' ventures in the back yard. The kids love the memories they have of those days. TTFN~Marydon
