Your kids are entirely too cute for words! lol

I saw your question on MckMama's blog, but commenting was closed, so I couldn't respond. I thought to my self, "Ha! Luckily, I follow her blog anyway!"

Anyhoo...MckMama uses a Canon, so she'd probably recommend the canon one. I did a TON of research before we got my dSLR, and, really they'll be very similar. Some people are just Nikon people, some are Canon people. I have photographer friends who swear by one or the other, but, if you really make them give you their opinion, they'll tell you that they think either is a great camera!

I did a lot of looking on Consumer Reports and cnet. The one thing is that if you do TOO much research, it gets your mind muddled. lol I ultimately went with a Nikon, and I love it. I'm far from professional, and I've only had it a month, but I'm slowly learning more and more with it.

Basically, all that to say, either one will be a great camera. Read reviews (if you dare!), find friends who have them and try them out, go to a camera store and play, whatever floats your boat!

Good luck!

You can never have too many pictures!

For your camera, relating to the post above, I also did a lot of research about different brands. Originally I was going to get a Nikon, but, in the end, I went with a Sony CyberShot, only because it is just about indestructible! I'm probably going to jinx myself now, but I have dropped that sucker a lot (I've had it for 7 months now) and I even have a scratch on the lens, and the pictures still come out the way I want. (The reason I wanted a durable camera was because I usually take too many pictures according to everybody in my family, but now all of my cousins and my Godsons want to constantly take pictures too. Since they don't have their own digital cameras-for obvious reasons-they use mine.) I think whichever camera you decide to get you will love because it will help you capture those adorable kids growing up!

I have yet to drop mine, but I find that I am MUCH more careful with my SLR than I was with my point and shoot. If I drop mine, I will probably cry. lol I used to let my small siblings use my point and shoot, and now, when they ask to use my new camera, I tell them no! haha
