being a mommy.

Pouring rains bring wonderfully flooded yards. The kids watched in delight as our backyard patio became an ankle deep pond, and they waited anxiously for the time when I would let them run wild in the newly fallen water. I tried to finagle the situation and hold them off until daddy came home so I wouldn't be overwhelmed with wet clothes and cold kiddos, but I relented and let them at it.

At first, I could be heard telling them that they were not allowed to splash anyone else, get their pants wet or let their boots get filled with water. Awful, I know.

This was all until Ethan crashed and fell face down in the water. Before I could fully absorb what had just happened (and stop laughing), kids were yanking off their rain boots, bikes and scooters were sliding sideways through the water sending rooster tails in all directions and entire outfits were being soaked completely. It was great!

And we laughed and kept yelling to Parker do it again to see how big he could splash while peeling out on his little brother's tricycle. When all was said and done, all their soaked clothes were thrown into the wash and hot showers were happily received.

The best part was that my sweeties had a blast and it was reestablished once again that I am the best Mommy ever. I guess that's what they mean by: when life gives you lemons{rain}, make lemonade{happy children}!

Haha, yeah, I don't think the rain boots served any purpose here. That looks like a blast. I probably would have been the only Mom out there in it with them! Glad yall had fun!
