chaos prevention.

One thing that I know works well in our home is planning.

Planning helps eliminate chaos.

When 7 kids wake up rested and happy, they need a direction to move in.
We have a chore list. This way I don't have to repeat myself 30 times a day (just for chores), reminding all the cupcakes which direction they should be moving in.

The best part is the children's worship songs we have blasting in the background to keep us in the right frame of mind. Praising and worshiping God can be done even while doing chores.

After chores and breakfast, I'm hoping we'll start school around 9am with prayer, the pledge of allegiance and a full children's chorus (remember there are 7 kids) singing the national anthem. I really wanted to implement the singing of patriotic songs into our curriculum because I remember learning them as a child in 2nd grade. I don't want my children growing up not knowing some of the beautiful songs about our country.

Then we'll go over numbers and the calendar together. As a significant change from last year, we'll no longer work at different times and in different rooms throughout the day, but as one class in one school together with me directing their assignments. Coming together is so cool. Being a family. Learning together.

This is an adventure for all of us and I don't want it to be a source of frustration and misery for anybody, including me! I want the memories to shine.
Even for the ones too young to be enrolled in our school: Pearl, Lincoln and Ruby. I want them to be included too!
