dang.

I think my kids have got it good. I know there are large family haters out there. I know there are those that think children from big families are neglected. But dang! When I think of my kids and look at some of our old pictures, I realize what I so often forget as a Mom living in the now is that my kids have so much fun in this family. They have a blast with each other. Think of it like this. Remember how much fun you had when a BUNCH of your friends came over to visit or sleep over? That's my kid's lives all the time. Hello? I'm telling you that coming from a large family with a bunch of kids is so cool....for the kids. I know it's true because I see it every day in my children's lives. Who doesn't want a ton of friends? The difference is that my kids have 'em and they live in the same house as them. That's cool.

I am an only child, and I hate it. I hated growing up and not having anyone to tell on me, fight with, or laugh with as a kid. Yes, I had friends but it wasn't the same. I always envied my friends that had lots of siblings. My husband and I have 4 kids and the other day I took my boys to the neighborhood playground, the younger fell asleep in the van so I let him sleep while the other played. The entire time my son kept asking when his brother was going to wake up and play with him. I think big families are GREAT!!

So true....I especially love to hear the kids when they go to bed at night giggle and talk about their day (but only for a few minutes :) It's like having a slumber party every night! There are many perks to a large family. Too bad some people just have to see the negative! Rosalie

I would have loved having had a big family close together in age! I'm alone now, the youngest from four and everyone is gone, it stinks!! Lori

I think it's a shame that people can't keep snide comments to themselves anymore. I may not believe in what you or my neighbor chooses to believe in but i try my best to support people anyways.

Big families ROCK! I'm the oldest of five and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Being an only child...I think it would have been awesome to be one of many :)

I'm one of six...and LOVED it.
One of my greatest fears would be that for some reason I'd only be able to have one child and he or she would have to grow up all alone!
Fortunately, God blessed us with a little sister for our Katie, and I pray He adds many more!

Large families rock! My parents had 3 girls... then my dad married my mums best friend after they parted. They had 4 more girls.. and the wife previously had 9 .. so that made 16 of us... all bought up together (the families lived close by)... all friends and let me tell you it gets even better as you get older... the spouses, children and now grand children.. just having the family together is a huge party. My kids often said it was so good cos they always get to meet a cousin they didn't meet before :) Let go of the critics... they are envious or naive. I have followed you for a long time and have always loved your blog. Your kids are great and I feel like I know you all. Marilyn xx
