a simple basket.

I really can't stand clutter. It makes my home shrink and my surroundings seem filled with chaos.

I like every thing to have a place. I want every thing to have a place. Did I say, "I need every thing to have a place"? A place for everything.

What works for me?

Keeping a basket in our living room-- holding all our morning reads.

The boys know where to go to find their Bibles and the little ones know where theirs are too. Because even they want to read their Bibles everyday [almost!].

This basket has our 'right now' reads-- what we are currently working through. From devotionals to Bibles to books on fascinating biblical facts and so on.

This works good for our family of 10-- practical and purposeful.

We're only a family of two (soon to be 3) and I do the same thing :) I love for everything to be put away and my husband is the exact opposite. He'll wait until it looks like a tornado went through our house to clean. I only have a couple baskets out, but this looks like it might be a good way for him to de-clutter. Thanks for the tip :)

I can't stand clutter either. I have baskets all over to hold things. It makes it look so much nicer :)

I can't agree more. When you come to my home (on most days) It looks put together because I am diligent about clutter.

I can't function with it, but dusting and such is a different story. I can function. SMILES!

Btw, I love love love the devotional book for homeschool moms you posted about. I felt like I wrote the ones I have read so far. Love it.

Btw, will you share maybe some of your bible reads that you do with your kids?

Could you possibly come over and just find a place for my everything?
When I went away, I begged my husband not to go in the basement, because I thought he might put me on the hoarders show!

I love baskets. I use them to store all kinds of things. We are a family of 10 as well. Organization is a must for sanity. :)

Each child keeps his scriptures by his bed at our house, but our family scriptures are kept in the living rom. My just-turned 1-year-old figured out that she can reach them on the shelf and take them down!
She loves to find baskets in the house and dump them all out.

I love, adore and am crazy about baskets. Truly. They are so handy for storing items nicely and looking good while they do it. They make it very easy for the kids, especially the littles, to clean up.

I love that idea and often try it but somehow those things NEVER stay in their assigned place. Grr
