The week before my Dad passed away, my family and I were actually on a Spring break vacation. That's where I was when I received the call from my brother on how bad my Dad's condition really was. I remember sitting on the balcony, a warm breeze blowing softly and God just opening my eyes to the reality of heaven. Seeing it as a place far more real than before. A peace coming over me. A confirmation of its existence. Up until the call, we enjoyed our time with the kids by the pool, dinning out and doing nearly nothing. Afterward, it was hard to think of anything other my Dad.
Because we live in close proximity to the beach, all of us REALLY look forward to the extremely hot weather and a pool where the older kids can bring all their pool paraphernalia. The kids do so much swimming while on our vacations that by the time we leave our hotel, they've had their fill and are exhausted.
We're so excited for school to be done and for daddy to be home that we've already done our Summer vacation planning. We're looking forward to spending a week at different places each month; and even better--my brother and his family, including my Mom, will be taking one of these trips with us. I think I am more excited about it than anyone else.
