how I know he loves me.

After years of our yard's landscaping being dominated by roses and hydrangeas, I have burst forth from my creative rut once again.

I asked my husband why he had let me buy so many of each and he said that I wouldn't even think of anything else. That was just the way it was.

When he asked me why I would only buy varieties of those two, I shared a deep dark secret with him. I revealed to him that I chose those types of plants because I knew that they were very hard to kill and so I felt confident enough at least to purchase those for my yard. It's true; I didn't kill them, but it didn't look that great. Kinda.

But alas, I am finally free from my fear and have been able to step out in the variety and colors of my plant selection. As a matter of fact, with some encouragement from my husband, I bought so many different things that I can't even remember all their names.

It's funny how my husband would say, "Oh yeah, get that one", then began frowning when he'd realized how many things we'd picked out. But I didn't feel bad, since it was his fault too.

Anyway-- this is him with a "dusty miller" which he thought we should have. Can you believe it: He made a special stop at the Green Thumb just before it closed to grab that one.

And here he is working his aesthetic magic, placing them just right. I pick'em and he just has a knack for figuring out the way they should go according to how I picture them in my mind. Let's face it, ladies... we want our men to be mindreaders-- and then complain when they aren't. But now I'm off topic.

The last pictures are how we tore out some of the old and replaced it with the new right below our front window. I'm so in love with it that I open up my front door a half dozen times a day just to breathe it all in. Hallelujah!

--Don't worry I didn't forget about all your questions. I'll be answering more over the course of the next few weeks.
