do you see what I see?

I pretend that I live in the country. I dream about living on a farm. I picture one day walking around holding a basket of home grown fruits & vegetables. I look in my backyard and see all the different colors bursting. I enjoy creating our own Garden of Eden... even if it is on a small city lot. I watch the butterflies & hummingbirds and tell the kids to hurry up and come watch. Maybe one day. Or maybe only here. I dream of wrap around porches and my girls grooming their own ponies. I want the kids to have acres to explore and still be safe.

Lazy days and bare feet are the best. The kids go absolutely bonkers over outdoor meals & fire pits in the early evening. In some elemental way, I think it's even healthier for them. Building stuff and climbing in and out of forts make for endless play. I love green grass and country flowers. I want to be surrounded by peace and warm quiet nights. I may never live in the big open country, but the little bit of country living we've transplanted here at our home is close enough for me.

By the way-- Yes, that is a little cupcake enjoying his bobby under the shade of the trampoline. And yes, that is a slip-n-slide on the ground in front of him.

Oh I would love a wrap around porch someday too! I'd sit and drink tea and watch the kids play :)

My children were raised this way, country living on a small lot, and if I had it to do again, I would. What sweetness...
