art.

With 8 children, I am still working on an efficient way to preserve their art work-- at least the stuff that's worth keeping! I mean, with such a bundle of children, the art work grows by mounds daily. Yes, daily. I know that people buy those giant portfolio folders, but instead, I'm thinking of getting 8 long plastic containers and assigning one for each little artist. I'd keep them in the attic and when I do my monthly sweep of art, I can organize each piece in the appropriate artist's container. Then, when they're married with children, I can easily pass down the treasures they once made as children. For now, just displaying some of the current stuff is really what I'm focusing on. Letting each work of art shine in our home. I'm sure there are other great ideas floating around out there and I'd love to hear them if you get a chance.

Sweet family :) We are expecting #8 in December!

And I love your idea - artwork is prolific in our house too.

i don't think they will keep in the plastic containers...because of changing temperatures.
Your best bet would to get archive acid free boxes.

I can identify with so many of your posts!

We too get inundated with tons and tons if artwork daily. I guess I'm mean and I do throw a LOT of it out, but each of the oldest kids have a folder, albeit a small one, to keep their best stuff in. You ought to see how much I've kept!! Whew!!

I do display the good stuff on a sort of clothesline in our dining room....the kids like seeing their art displayed.

I started doing that as well with a Tupperware bin. I figured that way I can get it to them one day and keep it safe in the meantime. Those frames are so cute!!
