my sweet little girl.

Tallulah Sunshine
8lbs 2oz
20 inches long

Tallulah is Choctaw (Native American Indian) for 'Leaping Water'
Sometimes considered to be Gaelic in origin
We already ordered her name plaque before she arrived
and this was the Scripture we chose to go with it:
Isaiah 12:3  Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the wells of salvation.
As you may know, we are Christians, and my husband and I think the importance placed on naming one's child is illustrated throughout the Bible. God thought it was a big deal, so did the Hebrews and so do we. It is also interesting to note
 [from ourbabynamer.com]:
Naming a child in the Native American culture is a sacred event
only to be performed by the wisest in the group, the elders.
Because of the level of ritual that it is given,
Native American names are considered especially significant and powerful.
Neat.
And by the way, both Chris and I have
Native American heritage in our bloodlines.
I know that may be trendy to claim these days, but at least in our cases, it's true.
