Even though people CONSTANTLY ask my husband who does the gardening to which he replies that he does the labor (hole digging and transplanting)--I am the one that waters, cuts, feeds and cares for the garden. Sometimes, it seems like it takes forever to do and then when I'm done it feels like I have to start all over again. But I really do love looking at the hard work after it has all been done. The best is when you first plant a new flower and water it, before all the buggies and elements get to it. It is almost always picture perfect. I currently have 56 roses and 31 hydrangeas, not to mention all the OTHER pretty flowers, a plum tree, pomegranate tree and two avocado trees that live amongst the favorites. My Sweetie loves to tell admirers that I am addicted to hydrangeas, but I think it might be roses-- I'm not sure yet. Sometimes, while at the Greenthumb, I fall in love with a flower or shrub and want to buy it, but I get into a pickle when I think about where should I put it. Needless to say, I do always find a 'perfect spot'. I must admit, though, when I sit in my front room sometimes I wish I had a big long mirror in the front yard. You know, to be able to stare out at my garden and see it in the reflection. The house across the street is NOT eye candy. Sorry. Hope you get to smell the roses today.

Beautiful, if only I could have a yard like that :)
What a sweet cottage look you have going! Lovely! Just Lovely! Thank you for sharing (This quote SO applies! My hubby loves to plant a HUGE garden and leave the weedin/waterin/harvestin to someone else! "A man should never plant a garden larger than his wife can take care of."
~T. H. Everett)
Your garden is absolutely beautiful! It shows that you have invested so much time, care, and love into it! Love the quote! LOL! ~Rhonda :)
Wow, that's a lot of flowers! No wonder they keep you so busy! But they're lovely.
I have the same problem with the house across the street from me (next door, and etc...) so I know what you mean. I love dahlias. They grow so well in my yard and at one time I had to dig them up, bust and give some away. Then momhood set in and I got busy in other directions. Now I am getting back into gardening with my yard and really makeing it beautiful again. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for stopping by my blog.

I do have some things I will be putting in my store soon that I think might appeal to you:
2 White Chenille Bedspreads
White Hobnail Lamp
and a few other things you might enjoy.

I love your white picket fence with the roses. So quaint. Cute pic of the child on the tire swing. We used to have one of those for our kids.
Gorgeous pictures!
I tire of gardening at this time of year, but the roses seem to thrive on my neglect. One last burst of color before the leaves change ;)
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

I have just started reading your Blog....and my first thought it..how in the WORLD do you have time fo a BLOG ? But then I see how organized you and the children are..and I stopped asking myself.
I have to tell you....EACH AND EVERY TIME...without fail...whenever my husband and I run into home schooled children, they are the most polite, helpful, sweet tempered, caring little people in the Universe...I am VERY glad there are people like yourself and your husband in the world...you are a BLESSING TO YOUR GOD and mine.
I am going to be an avid follower of you and your brood.
I too came from a large family, there are five of us original children.....all married and ALL over the age of 70 now..and all still alive and well.
GOD HAS RICHLY BLESS US TOO.
Hugs and kisses to the kids,
