The Little Yellow Schoolhouse

I am a new and excited homeschooling Mommy to my 3rd grader and Kindergartner. That's not even the hard part--It's keeping the 4 yr old, 3 yr old, 1 1/2 yr old and 6 month old busy while I teach. Whew! It makes me tired writing it. I wanted to Show & Tell about it because a couple of days ago we filed our affidavit and officially became a school called "THE LITTLE YELLOW SCHOOLHOUSE". A perfect name for us since we live in a small yellow cottage near the beach.

This is the first book I read on Homeschooling that ignited this new adventure for me.
'Home Sweet Homeschool' by Sue Maakestad
The boys showing you what great students they are (usually).
The benefits of being taught at home--no uniforms. This was one of the first few days of school
A day where I was not getting the victory and Cinderella had to come to the rescue for two of the little ones
The Cupcakes all love to say the Pledge of allegiance before school starts each morning
Pledge of Allegiance to the Christian flag too!
Our little architect drawing MORE plans for Art class
And a CUTE pencil holder for their FAVORITE teacher--ME!
signed, The Little Yellow Schoolhouse
(sounds cute huh?)

I love your Little Yellow Schoolhouse. That name is perfect if you live in a yellow cottage.

I'm sure your children will love being homeschooled. There's so much to learn and children love learning when it is fun.

Enjoyed your show and tell this week.

Blessings,
Mary

How neat that you are homeschooling with so many little ones in the house. I have a friend Vondalee who has done it for many years if you have any questions. Her blog is called 'On the Dry Side'. : )
Much love and happiness.

Homeschooling is different here in Bama, so I don't need a name, but our farm is called Kid Creek Farm, so I guess we'd be Kid Creek Christian :)

And seriously, Kid Creek is the name of the creek that runs through our property---we didn't come up with it! But isn't it so fitting for a family of 6??

I loved seeing your home school! :D

In fact, this is exactly the kind of post I'm hoping for more of when I begin hosting the Home school Open House once a month! I hope you can participate! :)

(Last year, I had a Kindergartner and a 3rd grader, too!)

Blessings,
~Tammy

Wow, home schooling - that must take a lot of patience, but be so rewarding!
Love the Little Yellow School House and your tea cup filled with crayons. The gardener's prayer... I have one of those and I love it ;)

You are off on a wonderful adventure with your children. I did it many years ago and have been so blessed over the years. I got a chance to help homeschool some of my grandchildren, too. I wish you many happy years. It's worth it all.

I so admire parents who choose homeschooling. I wish I had known that this was an option when my children were little. I would have done it in a heartbeat...

And the name of your school is perfect!

Warm Regards,
Susie
