The Cupcake in the oven has a name. Finally! No, I am not going to share it until the BIG delivery day. But what I think is funny and what my post is really about is how much expectation there is on a new mommy. What about having to pick a name that everyone (kind of) likes? Not that I find it necessary to make everyone happy, but sometimes I do care if people, especially family, like the name me and my sweet hubby pick out. There have be countless times when I bounce names off 'people' and they tell me they do not like them. First off, I probably shouldn't have even told them if I'm not willing to take the chance that they won't like it. And second, I get annoyed with myself for actually thinking that maybe I should pick a new name instead of sticking by my guns. Awful isn't it? Better yet is when 'certain' women tell me 'new' names they've heard in hopes of getting me to choose their name! I usually tell them (with a sweet smile) to go have their own child and then they can name it whatever they want... I used to think it didn't matter what my hubby thought about the name-- after all, this child has been riding shotgun on my bladder for nine months, not his, so I'll name it whatever I want! (Oops, I may be getting a little hormonal...) Fortunately, I married a great guy and that can have the wonderful effect of unscrewing some funky misconceptions you have going into a marriage. The truth is: I really care if he likes a name or not. At times, a little give and take is necessary. He has his favorite names and I have mine, but by the time each new baby arrives we're both in agreement on what baby's name will be. I love the names WE have chosen to give them and I can't wait to explain to them one day how Daddy & Mommy arrived at that name through searching, praying and talking about it. I LOVE all my sweetie's names and their meanings (more on this? click here...) that go along with each one.

What I've noticed about naming children what some think is horrible the day of the birth give it a few weeks and loving the new baby and suddenly it's the best name around. :0
I know in our case each of ours has their own first name and are named after someone for their middle name.
I checked out the names of your little "cupcakes".... I love each & every name!! I can't wait to see what you both agree on for the newest name!!
Love,
Marilyn

Just wanted to share this funny little story with you.....
While expecting our daughter (now 38) Hubs & I planned on naming her Lisa Marie.
After she was born we nixed that & immediately named her Constance Marie. We call her Connie... She was just a Connie. BUT & here's the problem. Our last name is Stevens. She was almost 2 years sold before we realized her name was Connie Stevens (as in the actress of the same name)... Oh No!!
She Loves it & always has..... It has been an ice-breaker for her for many years!!
Just thought I'd share...
Marilyn
I know what you mean. :)
For the last few we didn't announce the name until delivery.
Easier that way.
My husband didn't care one way or another nor volunteer a choice or opinion on our children's name ... except for the one name he disliked vehemently which was my VERY FAVORITE ... Sean. So by the time our last child was born he became Sean. I am glad I did name him Sean Ean as he was dead by age 3 1/2 yrs. I still cling to that name with such warmth ... May your baby be healthy & blessed. TTFN ~Marydon
So close now to welcoming your new cupcake.I must tell you I am one of those ladies that loved being pregnant too. I was sad to see my baby tummy go away, but so blessed to see my baby.
Names are special and a gift we give to our child.
Take care and enjoy your day,
Elizabeth
I can hardly wait to see your new little cupcake and find out her name. It is just so precious to be able to share it all with you!
Blessings~LillySue
I can't wait to see this baby and know her name! As long as the both of you love her name...that's all that matters! :-)
Oh geeeeeeeee I don't think I can wait that long,,,, lol I know what you mean about giving a name to the baby... How funny it is that it is so hard to do that, I never paid much mind to any one Else's thoughts on the subject. I am so excited for you and your family about the new life that is soon to be here.... get some rest you are going to need it...
Hugs;
Alaura
