1 bathroom. 11 people.

This was the finished product when my husband remodeled our bathroom four years ago. Clean and practical with a little bit of cute.

Since that time, our family has grown to 11-- and this is still our only bathroom. {We're praying and planning on adding another in the near future...}

You can imagine the amount of use and abuse it's been put through, which is why hubby will once again be freshening up the latrine this summer.

New coats of paint, refinishing the hardwood floor, new fixtures, and new blinds.

The paint, stain, and hardware have already been bought and are in the closet. This project will be underway on Monday of next week. I can't wait.

My favorite part of the bathroom?

Of course, it's the "Wash Your Hands" sign.

Unfortunately, the ones who need to see it the most are the ones who can't read yet...

When we had only 1 bathroom, my kids were hitting adolescence. I set up 'stations' for them with wall mirrors, their toiletries, brushes, etc. The bathroom was only for business!
I would recommend putting a sink in your garage, if it's plumbed. That's really handy, too!

Whoa! Susan's idea is really good.

I feel guilty for complaining about 5 of us with 1 bathroom! After finding out the price for a new septic, permitts etc. we came to the conclusion that buying another house was cheaper : (

LOL! The ones who need to wash can't read. I have a pump of hand sanitizer for quick bathroom trips for my kidlets.

I love the sign! I ask the "did you wash your hands?" question about 30 times a day- and I only have 3 so far :)

We have a family of 9, 6 of them girls. We have one, very tiny, bathroom. We are about to close on a house with FOUR bathrooms. I am so excited! My mom was asking me about the new house, what color is the paint?, what are the floors like?, what about the trim? All I could say was, "I don't quite remember, but it has four bathrooms." LOL!

We are a family of 11 with ONE very tiny bathroom as well. I would LOVE to have a second bathroom or at least an outhouse. :)

We are a family of four with one bathroom and I will stop complaining now. Thank you!

Can you tell I'm behind on reading the SUYL posts? And I'm interested (or obsessed!) enough to want to read every single one?!?!
